The COVID-19 pandemic has amplified existing hateful rhetoric, and racial violence has increased as a result. As we combat the harmful effects of scapegoating, we need to take care of one another, and encourage the unity of our communities.
Please consider donating to the following organizations whose aim is to support our communities, and to make sure we can stand strong against the wave of violence directed towards us.
Stop AAPI Hate is a joint project between the Asian Pacific Planning and Policy Council (A3PCON), Chinese for Affirmative Action (CAA), and the Asian American Studies Department of SFSU that’s providing training, materials, and guidance to grassroots organizations working to pass policy to protect those of us in the APIDA community.
Asian Americans Advancing Justice - Atlanta
AAAJ is a legal services and civic engagement focused organization that’s done a lot to increase voter participation and education inside of the growing APIDA diaspora in Atlanta. They’re part of a monumental effort that’s seen record numbers of Asian Americans participate at the polls and have done a lot of work to support first-generation Asian Americans with their legal status as residents and citizens.
Asian Mental Health Collective
The AMHC is a great organization that is addressing an issue that often isn’t talked about in the APIDA community: mental health and well-being. Their mission is to destigmatize mental health in APIDA communities, and to provide education and resources for folks who are currently struggling.
